Set in the Taisho era, the story follows Tanjirō Kamado, a boy whose family was slaughtered by demons, as he embarks on a journey of revenge and redemption. The TV anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc,” which began broadcasting in April 2019, quickly became a hot topic. Its sequel, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Mugen Train,” has surpassed a worldwide box office total of 50 billion yen. The original manga now boasts a worldwide cumulative circulation of 220 million copies, making it a record-breaking hit in the history of Japanese manga and anime.
Following the “Unwavering Resolve Arc” on TV, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc,” “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc,” and “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc” were broadcast. The trilogy “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle,” representing the series’ climax, was also announced. The first chapter, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle,” which has been screening since July 18, 2025, has already grossed over 25.7 billion yen within just one month of its release.
