[Photos/Images] The Technique That Left Tanjiro on the Brink of Death Easily Overcome: Giyu Tomioka's Overwhelming Strength Revealed in the First Appearance of "Eleventh Form: Dead Calm" in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba 1st

This is a memorable scene where the overwhelming strength of the Hashira, the most powerful swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps, is on full display. "Water Hashira" Giyu Tomioka (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai) instantly defeated a formidable foe who had given the protagonist Tanjirō Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae) a tough battle, using his newly developed technique "Water Breathing: Eleventh Form – Dead Calm."

In episode 20 of the anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, the demon boy Rui (voiced by Kōki Uchiyama) attempts to slice Tanjiro apart with his Blood Demon Art, "Murderous Eye Basket." Just as Tanjiro is driven to the brink, Giyu arrives, saying, "You held out well until I got here. Leave the rest to me," before unleashing "Water Breathing: Eleventh Form – Dead Calm."

"Dead Calm" is a new technique created by Giyu, which nullifies all attacks that enter his range. All of Rui's techniques are completely blocked, and in the blink of an eye, Rui's head is cut off.

Viewers were astonished at how quickly Giyu defeated such a formidable enemy, with comments flooding in: "Giyu is so cool, I got a nosebleed," "He really just wins that easily," and "He's so reliable." The visual depiction of the raging waves swirling around Giyu transforming instantly into a tranquil water surface, illustrating "Dead Calm," also drew high praise, with reactions like, "Whoa, wait a second, Dead Calm's expression is insane," and "The technique's effects... are just amazing."
