The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 2016 to 2020. Set in the Taisho period, the story follows Tanjirō Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), a boy whose family was murdered by demons, and his fight for justice. The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which began airing in April 2019, quickly became a hot topic, and its sequel, "Demon Slayer –Kimetsu no Yaiba– The Movie: Mugen Train," surpassed 50 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue. Now, the total number of copies of the manga in circulation worldwide has reached 220 million, making it a monumental hit in the history of Japanese manga and anime.

Following the "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," the TV anime has aired the "Entertainment District Arc," the "Swordsmith Village Arc," and the "Hashira Training Arc," while the final episodes are being adapted in three parts as "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle." The first part, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle – The First Chapter: Akaza’s Return," currently in theaters since July 18, 2025, has earned 28 billion yen in box office revenue within 38 days of its release.
