Absolute Reign of Terror! Muzan’s “Power Harassment Meeting” in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—The Frighteningly Complete System of Control

Should this be called a hidden masterpiece scene in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime…? The scene where Muzan Kibutsuji (voiced by Toshihiko Seki), the progenitor and king of demons, mercilessly eliminates his subordinates for unreasonable reasons has become a hot topic among fans, dubbed the “Power Harassment Meeting.”

In Episode 26 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, Muzan summons the five remaining Lower Moons from the Twelve Kizuki, asking, “Why are the Lower Moons so weak?” Lower Six (voiced by KENN) inwardly grumbles, “Even if you ask us that…,” but Muzan immediately reads his thoughts. Muzan presses, “Even if you ask us that…? Say it,” and then dispatches Lower Six.

Next, Muzan confronts Lower Four (voiced by Kana Ueda), saying, “Whenever you encounter a Hashira from the Demon Slayer Corps, you’re always thinking of escaping, aren’t you?” Lower Four desperately denies, “No, I’m not!” But Muzan goes on to ask, “Are you contradicting what I say?” and summarily executes her as well. Lower Three (voiced by Soichiro Hoshi) tries to flee but fails, and Lower Two (voiced by Daiten Kusunoki) appeals, “I can still be of service!” only to be killed too. In the end, only Lower One (voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa) remains.
