This entire series of scenes created such a stir that “Power Harassment Meeting” trended on X (formerly Twitter). On the internet, voices of sympathy for the demons poured in, such as, “What would have even been the right answer…?” “Muzan-sama truly is the embodiment of unreasonable,” and, “Seriously, even the demons must feel that way…”

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Set in the Taisho era, it tells the story of a young boy, Tanjiro Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), whose family is slaughtered by demons as he fights to avenge them. The TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc began airing in April 2019 and quickly gained widespread attention. Its sequel, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Mugen Train, surpassed 50 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue. The total cumulative print run of the original manga has now exceeded 220 million copies worldwide, making it one of the greatest hits in the history of Japanese manga and anime.

After the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, the TV anime continued with the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc. The climactic episodes, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle, are being produced as a trilogy. The first chapter, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle - Akaza Returns, currently in theaters from July 18, 2025, has grossed 28 billion yen in 38 days.
