The Cowardly Boy Ignites in Fiery Awakening! “He Became My Favorite” After a ‘Blood Erosion Release’ with His Late First Love—Tougen Anki Episode 8

The eighth episode of the anime “Tougen Anki” began airing sequentially from August 29. Rokuro Syujyutubara (voiced by Kaito Miura), a boy with a cowardly personality, resolves to fight with the memory of his late first love in his heart, exciting viewers with reactions such as “I’ve become a Rokuro fan” and “The blood erosion release is just too cool.”

In episode 8, “Unreliable Exploits,” Kuina Sazanami (voiced by Aimi), a student at the demon training school Rasetu Academy, faces a crisis when confronted by Aguri, a monster unleashed by the enemy. While Rokuro, her classmate, shakes with fear, hidden inside a closet, the image of his late first love, Ruru (voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro), suddenly appears in his mind.

A flashback follows, revealing that although Rokuro was always timid, he tried to look cool and act tough in front of Ruru. However, after losing her, he was ultimately consumed by anxieties and worries he’d previously kept at bay and became nothing but a coward.

Returning to the present, Rokuro thinks, “I can’t go on like this. If I meet Ruru again in heaven one day, I won’t be able to hold my head high. I have to be strong so I can truly tell her, ‘Even after you were gone, I was still cool!’” With this, he commits to creating his own “unreliable exploits.”

As Rokuro begins to bleed, the blood transforms into the shape of Ruru, who embraces him as if to encourage him. With his anxiety easing, Rokuro activates “Blood Erosion Release: Ash Dance Maelstrom.” Dressed in a costume of blood, Rokuro dances, turning his blood into a blizzard of blade-like cherry blossom petals, elegantly slicing Aguri to pieces. Victorious, Rokuro turns to Ruru in his heart with a bright expression, saying, “I’ll tell you with my head held high—Look at me! I am cool, right?”
