This impactful anime-original direction caused excitement among many viewers, with comments such as "I cracked up when Takada-chan’s song started playing." There were also reactions to the imaginative visuals of Todo and Takada-chan fighting together, with viewers exclaiming, "This is almost like a domain expansion!"

The anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami, which has surpassed 100 million copies in total circulation including digital editions. The story begins when Yūji Itadori, who comes to share his body with the King of Curses, Ryōmen Sukuna, transfers to the Tokyo Jujutsu High, a school specializing in combating curses. The highly popular "Gojo’s Past" and "Shibuya Incident" arcs from the manga were adapted in the anime’s second season that aired from July to December 2023.

The upcoming third season, "The Culling Game: Part 1," is set to air starting January 2026. Ahead of the broadcast, the first and second episodes of the third season will have their world premiere in theaters as part of the special screening event "Jujutsu Kaisen: Shibuya Incident Special Edition × The Culling Game Advanced Screening," starting November 7.
