Were Buildings and Trains Always This Light? Shibuya Reduced to Rubble in the Battle Between Sukuna and Mahoraga in “Jujutsu Kaisen”

In the “Shibuya Incident” arc of the anime “Jujutsu Kaisen,” the battle scene between Ryōmen Sukuna (voiced by Junichi Suwabe) and Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga (voiced by Takayuki Nakatsukasa) was described as “just like watching a movie.” The clash of these overwhelmingly powerful entities stood out in both scale and direction, and the intensity of the animation became a major topic of conversation.

In the “Shibuya Incident,” sorcerers, curse users, and cursed spirits wage large-scale battles throughout Shibuya. Upon awakening, Ryōmen Sukuna completely overwhelms Special Grade Cursed Spirit Jogo (voiced by Shigeru Chiba), showcasing his immense power. Meanwhile, Megumi Fushiguro (voiced by Yūma Uchida) suffers serious injuries in a battle with Toji Fushiguro (voiced by Takehito Koyasu), and is then caught off guard by Haruta Shigemo (voiced by Wataru Hatano), whom he encounters by chance. Pushed to the brink, Megumi decides to summon a certain shikigami using his Ten Shadows Technique.

That shikigami is none other than the strongest, Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga. The Ten Shadows Technique can only command shikigami that the user has successfully “subdued,” but no sorcerer in history has been able to subdue Mahoraga. Megumi is also unable to control Mahoraga, but he can summon it under the pretext of conducting the “Ritual of Subjugation,” drawing Mahoraga into battle with Haruta involved.
