—You mentioned that the motorcycle used in the shoot was a real one. Could you tell us how that came about?

Akizawa:I was able to take part in a cosplay event at a local festival where they were displaying a real police motorcycle. With special permissions obtained from all relevant parties, I was specially allowed to cosplay as a traffic police motorcycle officer.

—So it really was a special case.

Akizawa:Yes. Please be aware that cosplaying as a police officer in public spaces can fall under petty crime laws, so I ask everyone to be careful.

—Thank you for the warning. Since you’re clearly a big Detective Conan fan, how many characters from the series have you cosplayed so far?

Akizawa:I truly love Detective Conan—I’ve cosplayed 15 different characters from the series so far. I hope to keep expressing my love for this series in my own way.

—Thank you very much!

After this interview was conducted, it was announced that Miyuki Sawashiro would take over the role of Chihaya Hagiwara from Atsuko Tanaka, who passed away in August last year. The character is expected to be a central figure in the 2026 Detective Conan movie, so we hope to see more Chihaya cosplays from Akizawa in the future.
