Uzui's Arm... It Hurts to Understand the Desperate Feelings of Tanjiro as His Companions Fall in "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba"

In Episode 9 of the anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc," the "Sound Hashira" Tengen Uzui (voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi) has his left arm cut off in a fierce battle against the Upper Rank Six demons. Many viewers were left in shock by this dramatic turn of events, feeling as though the world went dark before their eyes.

Episode 9 of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc" depicts the intensifying battle with the demon siblings, Gyutaro (voiced by Ryota Osaka) and Daki (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro). Tanjiro Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), Zenitsu Agatsuma (voiced by Hiro Shimono), and Inosuke Hashibira (voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) work together, managing to successfully decapitate Daki. Inosuke, clutching Daki’s head to prevent it from regenerating, tries to make his escape—only to be stabbed from behind by Gyutaro.

When Tanjiro looks around in panic, thinking, "Why is he here!? Where’s Uzui!?" he sees Uzui lying motionless on the ground among the rubble. Uzui does not move at all, and his severed left arm lays beside him. With the group on the verge of annihilation, the episode ends as Tanjiro’s inner monologue echoes, "I’m sorry, I’m sorry, everyone, I’m sorry..."
