[Photos/Images] Huh!? Could It Be... That Crow’s Voice Is...? Genya’s Kasugai Crow in "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" Was Voiced at Final Boss Level 1st

The anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is renowned for its cast of star voice actors, even in supporting roles, but this casting truly exceeded all expectations! In episode 6 of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc” the legendary voice actor Ryusei Nakao played the role of a Kasugai crow, shocking viewers with comments like, “That voice is final boss-level” and “Why did they cast such a big-name voice actor for a minor character?”

One of the series' major draws is the appearance of many popular voice actors throughout the cast. Notably, even though the Kasugai crows—birds serving as the Demon Slayer Corps’ messengers—have few appearances, they’ve been voiced by incredibly talented actors such as Rie Kugimiya, Manaka Iwami, and Sho Hayami. Every time a new Kasugai crow has appeared, it has become a hot topic.

In episode 6 of the “Hashira Training Arc,” Genya Shinazugawa (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto) visited Tanjirō Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), who was in the middle of training. Their respective Kasugai crows started bickering, and when Tanjirō’s crow (voiced by Takumi Yamazaki) insulted, “Die,” Genya’s crow snapped back, “Hmph! How about you?!”

The role of Genya’s Kasugai crow is performed by Ryusei Nakao, a legendary voice actor famous for playing villains in various beloved anime series. The unexpected, lavish casting prompted reactions online such as, “Hm? Is Genya’s Kasugai crow really Ryusei Nakao…?”, “His voice is totally final boss-level,” and “Why did they cast such a famous voice actor for a minor role?"
