The breathtakingly animated scene of the Ubuyashiki family’s self-destruction drew high praise across social media, with viewers saying things like, "The explosion scene is seriously movie-level!" "It looked so real I thought it was live action," "No matter how many times I watch it, the Ubuyashiki bomber scene’s animation is insane," and "Animation of such an incredible level, it’s abnormal in anime history."

The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Set in the Taishō era, the story follows Tanjirō Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), a boy whose family was killed by demons, as he fights for justice.

The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which aired starting in April 2019, immediately became a hot topic, and its sequel, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train," surpassed 50 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue. The cumulative total worldwide circulation of the original manga has now reached 220 million copies, making it a record-breaking hit in the history of Japanese manga and anime.

Following the "Unwavering Resolve Arc," the TV anime continued with the "Entertainment District Arc," "Swordsmith Village Arc," and "Hashira Training Arc." For the final episodes, the production of a trilogy, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Arc," has been announced. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Arc – Part 1: Akaza’s Return," released on July 18, 2025, earned more than 34 billion yen in box office revenue within 66 days of release. The film is gradually opening in overseas regions as well and surpassed 82.3 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue, including Japan, as of September 22.
