Gojo Satoru in Serious Mode Draws Attention with His Cold Gaze: "He's So Cool!" in Jujutsu Kaisen

While Gojo Satoru (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura) is known for being the strongest yet lighthearted and laid-back, there is also a different kind of appeal when he displays genuine anger. In the "Shibuya Incident" arc of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, there is a scene where Gojo switches to "serious mode" in the face of curses trying to involve civilians. The moment he takes off his blindfold and looks down at the curses from above is overwhelming—even for those who aren't his enemies.

On October 31, 2018, 7:00 PM in the story, while Shibuya was bustling with Halloween festivities, a curtain fell, trapping a large crowd inside. The "Shibuya Incident" is an episode where sorcerers, curse users, and curses gather for the largest-scale battle in the series' history. To prevent further casualties, Gojo heads alone to the underground platform of Shibuya Station, where he confronts special grade curse Jogo (voiced by Shigeru Chiba) and others.

Jogo, using the many civilians left on the platform and inside the train cars as shields, attacks Gojo. Indifferent to the lives of civilians, Jogo taunts him, but Gojo responds, "Honestly, I was surprised." When Jogo, full of self-satisfaction, asks, "What’s that? An excuse?" Gojo snaps back, "No, baldy," and shows his anger: "I’m surprised you thought you could beat me with this level of brainpower." He then removes his blindfold in preparation for battle and looks down on Jogo from above.
