In the anime "Doraemon," the first brand-new ending theme since the 2005 renewal has been decided: Singer-songwriter Tani Yuuki has written the new song “Moshimo nogatari” especially for the show.

"Doraemon" is an anime based on the extremely popular manga by Fujiko F. Fujio. It depicts the daily lives and friendships of the future cat-type robot Doraemon, who produces mysterious “Secret Gadgets” from his four-dimensional pocket, and Nobita—who struggles with both study and sports—and his friends. The TV anime has been on air for over 45 years, making it a long-running series.

The film “Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia,” released in March this year, became a massive hit, surpassing 4.5 billion yen in box office revenue. The announcement of the latest film, “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Undersea Devil’s Castle” (coming in 2026), has created even more excitement around "Doraemon." Since the TV series began airing in 1979, it has continued to lead as a top children’s anime for over 45 years.

Now, for the first time since the 2005 renewal, a new ending theme has been decided for the "Doraemon" anime. It will premiere on Saturday, October 4.

The commemorative first new ending song in 20 years since the renewal is “Moshimo nogatari,” a fresh track written by Tani Yuuki, a dynamic singer-songwriter whose songs such as “Myra” and “W/X/Y” have broken out on social media and topped the music streaming charts, garnering support from the younger generation.

With lyrics crafted in hopes that the song will not only encourage children’s dreams but also gently support adults, the light and bouncy melody makes it an uplifting and catchy track.
