What Job Would You Want in a World of Swords and Magic? We Asked the Main Cast: Shuichiro Umeda, Yurika Kubo, Masumi Tazawa, and Masaaki Mizunaka [Anime 'The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest' Interview]

Struggling with the decision, the first to answer was Kubo. After a brief consideration, she responded, "From a personality standpoint, I'd prefer auxiliary magic, but I'll choose attack magic." When Umeda asked for her reasoning, she explained, "If I were to fail in assisting, it could endanger someone's life. So I thought for a moment that it would be better if I attacked myself!"

In the fantasy world, and even in the real world where MMORPGs are played, the importance of a supporting role is clear. "If you keep failing, you might just get expelled, which might be inevitable (laughs)," Mizunaka quipped, prompting laughter.

Mizunaka, who plays the character Ornest, who is an aggressive front-line type, said, "I'd attack with a bow from behind because it's scary (laughs)." To which Kubo retorted, "That's just like Clacia, using a bow and recovery magic!"

Conversely, Tazawa, who plays the support role Clacia, said, "I'd rather use attack magic than recovery magic. I think it would be really cool to charge up and fire off a shot, just like Alec!"

Finally, Umeda surprisingly stated, "If I could choose anything, I'd like to become a blacksmith who makes equipment rather than use magic. I'd like to see everyone flourish using my weapons."

The work features items such as weapons referred to as 'Ancient Artifacts'. Like the members of 'Lasting Period,' the answers from the four were all unique, creating a balanced impression.
