――Having read the script, I noticed that, as you both mentioned, the show is a blend of sci-fi and romance drama, with elements of romantic comedy and action. What do you think is at the core of the series?
Umeda: From Akira's perspective, there's an unwavering axis of Towasa, while at the same time, there are humans from different eras with completely different common senses, and androids with different values and perceptions.
Interacting with people who have various values and common senses is crucial to how Akira and the others perceive and affect each other. So, while the sci-fi elements are enjoyable in their own right, the interactions feel like those between people in a modern setting.
――It's a human drama element, isn't it?
Umeda: Yes, I believe it's a story of heart-to-heart communication. Whether one is an android or a human, there is warmth, and I think it's a story filled with warmth. While the journey and conclusions may differ, everyone is striving towards one answer together.
Ishikawa: That's right. Not everything goes perfectly, but through dialogue, each couple aligns their values and moves forward, sometimes successfully and sometimes leading to goodbyes. At its core, it's a story where dialogue and understanding one another are important.
