I'm Chiaki Kobayashi, who will be voicing Jin Daima. Now that we're in the Reiwa era, various works and content have increased, but precisely because of that, there were many moments during recording when this work, filled with love within the laughter, deeply resonated. I believe it will become a work that touches your hearts and delivers laughter, so I would be grateful if you look forward to it!
Q. If you could return to your student days, what would you do?
During high school, I spent my time on part-time jobs and hobbies without joining any club, so I'd like to join a club I was considering at the time, like track and field or tennis. I wish I could have experienced that passionate youth of having exchange matches with other schools, competing with rivals, and then facing them at prefectural tournaments.
Dai Monohoshi (CV: Kikunosuke Toya)

A member of Kimengumi. Known as "Ochoboguchi no Dai" (Dai with Small Lips). His family runs a bookstore. Has a maiden-like personality. Possesses a strange sensuality.

I'll be playing Dai Monohoshi! I'm Kikunosuke Toya! Dai-kun likes maiden-like things and has a unique aura even among the individualistic "Kimengumi." Apparently, he takes baths three times a day. I thought, "That's just like me." Baths feel good, don't they?
Q. If you could return to your student days, what would you do?
Right now, I dislike bitter things, so I wish I had eaten lots of bitter things from my student days to build up tolerance to bitter things so that I could eat them as an adult, so I'd eat lots of bitter things. Also, I'd like to fall in love.
Yui Kawa (CV: Haruka Shiraishi)

A cute heroine, as her name suggests. Cheerful and innocent, but also has a natural airhead side. She enjoys Kimengumi's eccentric behavior, making her just as much of an oddball as they are.

I'm Haruka Shiraishi, who will be playing Yui Kawa! Yui-chan is a cute girl as her name suggests, but while you might think she's a proper heroine... she also has surprisingly quirky aspects, which is her charm. This work has such strong comedic elements that it's hard to hold back laughter during recording, but there are also many moments when Kimengumi's words make you stop and think. It's a fun work packed with messages that should reach people especially in this era, so please come meet Kimengumi in the anime! Thank you very much!
Q. If you could return to your student days, what would you do?
During my student days, I focused on work and lessons, so if I could go back, I'd join a sports club and experience that "sports-oriented youth"! While I think it would be tough, I believe there's a strength of bonds and perseverance that can only be born within club activities, so I'd like to try it.
Also... I've always dreamed of stopping by places after school! When recording background chatter of leaving school during dubbing, I tend to say things like "Hey, wanna get crepes on the way home?" This is definitely because I'm dragging along the after-school lifestyle I wanted to experience... (laughs). If I could return to my student days, I'd like to save the ghost of crepes!
Chie Uru (CV: Ikumi Hasegawa)

Yui's best friend, a tomboy with a strong-willed personality. Her family runs a flower shop. She also has a side that yearns for femininity. Often becomes the straight man due to the many oddballs around her.

I'm Ikumi Hasegawa, who will be voicing Chie Uru! I'm honored to be entrusted with this role. Every episode, the "Kimengumi" members leap far beyond the diagonal of expectations, and I'm confused, exasperated, and laughing... I'm enjoying the world of "High School! Kimengumi" while sharing feelings with Chie-chan!
At the recording site, we're dubbing in such a boisterous slapstick manner that the air in the booth gets thin!
Please look forward to the broadcast♪
Q. If you could return to your student days, what would you do?
High school was the most lethargic period of my life, so whether it's throwing myself into club activities or lessons, or playing around with friends, I'd like to create something—anything—that I was "crazy about!"
Comments from Staff Also Arrive!
Motoei Shinzawa (Original Creator) Comment
I'm looking forward to seeing how "Kimengumi," which has a new era setting, different voice actors, and new visuals, will be received by young people who know nothing about the original work or the previous anime. Of course, I'm also looking forward to the reactions of fans of the original work and previous anime. I'm personally excited about it.
Kazuaki Seki (Director) Comment
That anime "Kimengumi" is coming back. It's a work I myself encountered during my student days. I feel honored that we adults can approach the work with the same feelings we had back then. Also, it's become a work that gives us energy from the power of "Kimengumi," which makes us feel that way.
I hope you'll enjoy the activities of these five who can make us temporarily forget the unpleasant things we feel daily, and the various characters that surround them. I hope you'll experience both nostalgia and new discoveries! Kimen Furāsshu!
Takashi Nishikawa (Animation Director) Comment
I hope it will become an anime that energizes people...! Society continues to be in turmoil, and various difficulties are arising. In such times, while I can't say "you can do anything if you have energy!" I can say that nothing can begin without energy.
A representative work of 1980s gag manga, which had such vitality, is "reviving in a position like a health supplement for the modern anime industry"—with that in mind, I want to work hard on production.
Shigeru Murakoshi (Series Composition) Comment
"Kimengumi," one of the representative gag manga of the Showa era, which continues to be passed down in various forms to this day—
Looking at the characters appearing in the Reiwa era now, I feel even more strongly the message: "There may be various things, but let's laugh away our daily worries together!"
I hope you'll experience not only that "outrageous fun, momentum, and facial power," but also the "way of life that stays true to one's individuality and pervert power" that resonates especially in this era.
Yuka Abe (Character Design) Comment
I was originally a huge fan of the work, and I wouldn't exist without "Kimengumi." To be able to deliver the work to everyone in the position of character designer makes me deeply honored, and I'm "shipatashipatā!" every day with that joy. I'm sincerely grateful to everyone involved, and to Motoei Shinzawa-sensei.
That once-seen, never-forgotten, one-of-a-kind impact. Even 45 years after serialization began in 1980, it hasn't faded. These are faces that should be passed down to the next life as tangible cultural properties.
Night Tempo (In-Show Song Producer) Comment
I'm very honored to be involved even for a second with a work I respect. Under the context of retro, I remade the original song by reconstructing it. The character's charm suits the song very well, and it became an interesting song. Please love it a lot!
