That voice sounds familiar...!? In Gintama anime Episode 119, Toshiro Hijikata (CV: Kazuya Nakai) sets out to collect the "Slippery Balls" (Zuruzuru Balls), which grant any wish when seven are gathered. In a huge surprise, Norio Wakamoto, the voice actor for Cell from Dragon Ball, appeared in an unexpected role.
Episode 119 begins with the Shinsengumi headquarters going completely non-smoking. The heavy smoker Hijikata, desperate for a cigarette, heads to a planet named "Hamekksei." However, Hamekksei had been scorched into a wasteland by Breeza (CV: Tetsuharu Ota)...
Following this, Hijikata begins collecting the "ZuruZuru Balls" which can grant any wish when seven are gathered. Sero (CV: Tomokazu Sugita), who holds the remaining "ZuruZuru Balls," is instantly annihilated by Hijikata while yelling, "Blurrraaahh!"
In another scene, the "Super Earthling" who confronts Breeza is voiced by Norio Wakamoto, who usually voices Katakuriko Matsudaira in Gintama. Wakamoto, of course, is the voice actor famous for playing Cell in Dragon Ball.
There were undoubtedly many fans who were thrilled by the clever casting choice in this "ZuruZuru Balls" episode.
