"Chiikawa" is a popular manga posted on X (formerly Twitter) that illustrator Nagano began serializing in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at both the "Japan Character Awards 2022" and the "Japan Character Awards 2024" announced in July 2024. The gap between the small and cute characters and the harsh world view has garnered widespread popularity from adults to children, and the number of followers has now surpassed 4.34 million.
The new series of the anime "Chiikawa" is currently being broadcast within "Mezamashi TV" on the Fuji Television Network starting July 15, 2025. Additionally, on July 28, the experiential facility "Chiikawa Park" opened at Sunshine City Annex in Ikebukuro.
