Fall Anime 'Sute Tsuyo' and 'Tondemo Skill 2' Get Major Features! 'Overlap Bunko All-Star Assembly SP 2025' Part 3

On ABEMA, the special program 'Overlap Bunko All-Star Assembly SP 2025' Part 3 was broadcast exclusively and free for an hour and a half starting at 7 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The program featured major segments on the new fall anime 'My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's' (hereinafter 'Sute Tsuyo') and 'Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill 2' (hereinafter 'Tondemo Skill 2'). The program delivered special content that is a must-see for anime fans, including retrospective talks by the luxurious cast members peppered with behind-the-scenes stories, the unveiling of a PV for 'Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord' which has been confirmed for anime adaptation, and the announcement of the winners of the '12th Overlap Bunko Grand Prize.'

First up was a feature on 'Sute Tsuyo,' a dark fantasy isekai story about Akira Oda, an ordinary high school student who is summoned to another world and gains the abilities of an "assassin," and who bravely confronts the conspiracies of the other world alongside the elf Amelia while being tossed about by them. Takeo Otsuka, who plays the protagonist Akira Oda, Saku Mizuno, who plays Amelia Rosequartz, and Sanae Kobayashi, who plays Yoru, talked about the harmonious atmosphere of the recording studio and their dedication to character development.

Otsuka analyzed Akira, whom he portrays, as "someone with unfriendly eyes who keeps his distance from people, but is kind and sincere at heart," and revealed his approach to the role, saying, "He's someone who doesn't show much in his expressions, so I wanted to firmly grasp what Akira is feeling and what he wants to do at each moment and perform accordingly."

Mizuno introduced the appeal of Amelia, an elven royal, saying, "She has a cute appearance but is incredibly strong and a big eater (laughs)," and explained the points she was conscious of in character development: "Cuteness is a given, but I was conscious of not being overly cutesy, and focused on purity and a natural quality."

Kobayashi, who plays Yoru, said with a grin, "Right now I can only say she's 'a monster and a cat,' but..." and added, "I'll just say that the dragon that appeared at the end of Episode 2 isn't just a mob character." She appealed for attention to Yoru's future activities, saying, "She'll start speaking from Episode 3, so I'd be happy if you could pay attention from there."

There was also a segment looking back at memorable scenes from Episodes 1 and 2 selected by director Nobuyoshi Habara, accompanied by footage. The director discussed his dedication to direction, and there were even comments praising the cast's character development, causing everyone to blush. In contrast to the serious nature of the work, talks filled with smiles throughout were held, and the studio was enveloped in a warm atmosphere.
