Fans' Expectations Rise as Trailer for "Super Mario Galaxy" Movie Is Released: "This is definitely going to be amazing"

The official trailer and poster images for the film "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie," set to be released nationwide on Friday, April 24, 2026, have been unveiled.

"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" is an animated work based on the world of "Super Mario Bros." It is the second film following "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," which was released in 2023 and recorded a cumulative worldwide box office revenue of approximately 1.3 billion dollars (approximately 200 billion yen) or more. Both films are produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.

"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie," co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo, continues to be directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic following the previous film, with Matthew Fogel also continuing as screenwriter. The music will once again be handled by Brian Tyler.

Following the trailer release, voices of anticipation have been pouring in online, such as "It looks interesting and exciting," "This is definitely going to be amazing," and "I'm definitely going to see it!" In addition, many comments about the content of the footage were also seen, including "Rosalina is cute" and "I'm happy there are Odyssey elements too."
