——Was it unexpected that it would become such a full-on action blockbuster?

Hondo: I hadn't even thought about whether it would become an action film or not. I approached it with the mindset that I'd be okay with whatever development came.

——In this work, Tae-chan finally awakens, but how was it working with Kotono Mitsuishi (who plays Tae Yamada)?

Hondo: The fact that Tae-chan could speak words and have conversations felt fresh yet very strange at the same time. I tried to maintain that fresh feeling and performed while being conscious of being able to be surprised honestly just like Sakura.

——Did you feel "Tae-chan-ness" in the exchanges?

Hondo: I didn't feel Tae-chan-ness. It was an awakened state as Tae Yamada (before she was active as Franchouchou), so I think the personality she was conscious of was different.

——That's certainly a difference.

Hondo: In that sense, aside from the common point that Ms. Mitsuishi was performing, there was nothing of Tae-chan, and there were scenes where she pushed away Sakura and the Franchouchou members, which made me think "This is quite tough." But I definitely think Tae-chan was there.

——Finally, please give a message to those who haven't seen this work yet.

Hondo: I can proudly say with confidence that a wonderful work has been completed, to the point where I can declare "Everyone who has read this must go to the theater!"

I think people will be very surprised at first by the fact that girls who died once as zombies somehow come back to life and work as idols, but the story is very deep, and there are parts that really make you think about life and death.

And in the theatrical film, four new songs have been added, and they're very gritty and cool! Elements of many generations gathering from oiran to Heisei-era idols also appear in the songs, so if you're interested, please go to the theater and enjoy watching it!
