Cel Paintings from "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and More! Must-See Materials for Fans on Display at the 30th Anniversary Exhibition "ALL OF EVANGELION"

From November 14 to January 12, 2026, the 30th anniversary exhibition "ALL OF EVANGELION" will be held at Tokyo City View, the observation deck at Roppongi Hills.

"ALL OF EVANGELION" commemorates the 30th anniversary of "Neon Genesis Evangelion," which began airing in October 1995, featuring production materials such as cel paintings from the TV series and original artwork from the "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" series. This article delivers a look at the "ALL OF EVANGELION" exhibition, focusing on photos taken at the preview held on November 13, prior to the opening.

At the entrance of the venue, which offers stunning views of Tokyo, a figure of Evangelion Unit-01 is on display. After sunset, it will be illuminated with lighting effects exclusive to the Tokyo venue.

The exhibition is divided into a prologue and Chapters 1 through 4. The prologue compiles setting materials from the production of the TV series, featuring an array of settings for popular characters such as Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami, as well as Evangelion units and Angels.

Chapter 1 centers on the display of cel paintings used in the TV series. With the cooperation of the NPO "Anime Tokusatsu Archive Organization," approximately 270 carefully selected cel paintings from among the more than 10,000 cuts that still exist were unveiled. Visitors can enjoy the many vividly colored cel paintings actually finished with paint.
