In the subsequent practical lesson, they started with how to hold the bachi (drumsticks) and the posture for striking. Receiving instruction that "you should point the bachi straight up toward the ceiling, and the sound resonates most when you strike right in the center of the drum," the two began practicing. Kobayashi, who had no previous experience with percussion instruments, freely swung the bachi and showed a beaming smile, saying "This is fun! It feels so good!" Meanwhile, Yasumoto, who had experience with drums in middle and high school, showed surprise at the difference in feel, saying "The rebound is completely different from drums. The sensation is totally different!"
In the midst of this, during the individual performance check, a scene of conflict broke out. Although Kobayashi struck the drum without hesitation and a magnificent sound resonated throughout the studio, because he stopped the bachi after striking, Issai gave gentle advice: "It resonates better if you let it bounce back." Then, from Yasumoto next to him, a retort exploded as if seizing the opportunity: "Idiot!" Immediately, Kobayashi also counterattacked, pouring his anger into the drum and striking it once, saying "Unforgivable!" "Yasumoto-san, you idiot!"

After that, as they continued the lesson, perhaps a sense of rivalry sprouted between them, as they inexplicably started glaring at each other, and during the scene where they performed a session with Issai as the culmination of their lessons, when Yasumoto saw Kobayashi skip a phrase, he teased him saying "That guy wasn't listening to (the teacher's) instructions!"—the two began their "fake rivalry act." To Kobayashi saying "We're somehow becoming rivals through taiko (laughs)," Yasumoto also retorted to himself, saying "I'm so hyped up I don't even know what's happening anymore" and "What is this?" Laughter spread throughout the studio at the mysterious energy of the two in the solemn atmosphere, and viewers also got excited, commenting "What cute brothers," "The most lovey-dovey ever," "Taiko class for elementary schoolers," and "Chiaki-kun is a bit clumsy ww."
And so, the lesson ended with them out of breath throughout, and finally, the two reflected on their first wadaiko experience. Kobayashi reflected with a look of surprise at how unexpectedly physical taiko performance is, saying "I was purely just enjoying it. But I sweated an unbelievable amount..." Yasumoto commented while letting his frustration show through, saying thoughtfully "It's an instrument where you can really face yourself properly," but also "I thought I could do better... Taiko is incredibly fun!" Having experienced the "sound of wa" with their entire bodies, it became a "night play" truly befitting "Culture Day."
