Fans who saw the illustration immediately showered it with praise, with comments such as: "Her drawing skills are too good!", "As always, she's amazing—like a goddess," and "Seriously, why does heaven give two gifts?" (a Japanese idiom praising someone with multiple talents).

Furthermore, given that this slot is usually reserved for professional illustrators, there were many surprised reactions expressing the unexpected nature of the artist choice: "LOL, the main character's voice actor is just casually providing the end card," "This is an illustration by Madoka herself...!", and "It's the person inside [the character]!"

As an aside, the method of commissioning guest artists for end cards is a fan service frequently employed by the animation studio Shaft, which handles Madoka Magica's production, and can be seen in various other works by the studio.
