Shinya momoiwa Villainy Escalates! His Inner Monologue of Manipulating Allies is "More Demonic Than a Demon" in Tougen Anki Anime Episode 18

Tougen Anki anime's Episode 18 aired sequentially starting November 14th. Shinya Momoiwa (CV: Chiharu Sawashiro), a character who treats others like pawns, chilled viewers to the bone with his inner thoughts regarding his allies, prompting comments like, "Isn't he too twisted...?"

Shinya, the captain of the Momotaro Agency's 21st Unit, is a character with strong ambition for promotion and a cold, calculating side that lets him choose any means necessary to achieve his goals. Despite being in a position to protect citizens from demons (Oni), he has secretly associated with semi-criminal gangs and ordered the arson of hospitals and residences.

Furthermore, Shinya schemes to exploit even the 21st Unit's Vice Captain, Mikado Momodera (CV: Shunichi Toki). Mikado had coincidentally become friends with Shiki Ichinose (CV: Kazuki Ura), who was disguised and going by the name "Natsu," completely unaware that he was a demon. Realizing this, Shinya plotted to use Mikado to capture Shiki. In Episode 18, titled "Seeds of Doubt," Shinya stoked Mikado's suspicion toward Natsu by mentioning the address Mikado had given Natsu was on fire, and by suggesting that Natsu might actually be Shiki.

Despite this manipulation, Mikado firmly stated, "It's true that I haven't known Natsu-kun for long, but you can feel a person's vibe, right? Natsu-kun is completely natural around me. That's why I want to believe in Natsu-kun!" However, Shinya inwardly sneered, "The moment he says 'I want to believe,' not just 'I believe,' the doubt is already there," and enjoyed watching Mikado sink into suspicion, muttering, "Good. Waver, waver, waver."

Viewers were horrified by Shinya's attempts to drive a wedge between Mikado and Shiki, commenting, "What he's doing is more demonic than a demon," "Shinya's slyness is seriously awful," and "Isn't he too twisted...?"
