[Photos/Images] Wait, Who Was That...? The Old Man Who Announced Stark's Training Completion with a "Great Voice" in "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" Was Surreal 1st

The "great-voiced mob old man" made a tremendous impact! In episode 22 of the anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," an old martial arts master (CV: Cho) suddenly appeared to accompany Stark's (CV: Chiaki Kobayashi) training. Veteran voice actor Cho delivered lines typical of training scenes, such as "This is the state of nothingness..." with full dignity, and despite being a minor role, it became a hot topic online at the time.

In episode 22, a mysterious old man was next to Stark during his training. The old man, known as the martial arts master, had a presence reminiscent of a hermit sage and spoke with deep emotion, saying "This is the state of nothingness. You have done well to reach the essence of martial arts. I have nothing more to teach you," before departing.

At first glance, the martial arts old man appeared to be Stark's master, but he was actually a complete stranger. When Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki) asked Stark "Who is that old man?", Stark replied "I don't know him. He just talks to me when I'm training," delivering an unexpected punchline.

When veteran voice actor Cho performed lines that could have come straight from a game's training completion scene, what was otherwise an ordinary moment suddenly became a scene with mysterious depth. Despite his brief appearance, the martial arts old man radiated an outstanding presence, and reactions gathered online such as "It's unfair how much presence he has with just that!" and "Is there really no deeper meaning even though the voice actor for this old man is Cho-san!?"
