Uesugi: For example, the three-dimensionality in the depths of the eyes—I think that's an element that can only be expressed in live-action. I think this has become a work packed with many expressions that exist only here.

There are anxieties, but with maximum respect for the original work, and believing there's meaning in what we should do as a live-action film, we've continued to pursue and engage with the intensity, subtle nuances, and expressions unique to this work.
