The synopsis and advance stills for Episode 1 of the anime "Journal with Witch" have been released.

The original work is the comic "Journal with Witch" by Tomoko Yamashita, which was serialized in "FEEL YOUNG" (Shodensha) from 2017 to 2023 and has surpassed 1.8 million copies in total circulation. The story depicts the cohabitation of Makio Kōdai (CV. Miyuki Sawashiro), a shy novelist, and her niece Asa Takumi (CV. Fūko Mori), a girl who lost both of her parents, as they fumble their way through living together.

The series won 4th place in "Manga Taisho 2019," 5th place in the Women's category of "Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2024," and 1st place in the comic ranking of Da Vinci's "BOOK OF THE YEAR 2023." Even after the serialization ended, it continues to be loved by many readers and remains a hot topic.

Synopsis:

Asa Takumi, a 15-year-old who lost her parents in an accident, is taken in by her aunt, novelist Makio Kōdai, at the funeral. As the awkward cohabitation begins between Makio, who is shy and prefers solitude, and Asa, who is honest and straightforward—two people with different personalities and ways of life—they touch upon each other's loneliness and gradually begin to grow closer to one another.
