The original work is the comic "Journal with Witch" by Tomoko Yamashita, which was serialized in "FEEL YOUNG" (Shodensha) from 2017 to 2023 and has surpassed 1.8 million copies in total circulation. The story depicts the cohabitation of Makio Kōdai (CV. Miyuki Sawashiro), a shy novelist, and her niece Asa Takumi (CV.
