New 'Evangelion' Short Film Confirmed for Production! Approximately 13-Minute Screening Exclusive to 30th Anniversary Festival Venue

"EVANGELION:30+;" is the series' first festival event, held over three days at Yokohama Arena as the culmination of the Evangelion series' 30th anniversary project. It has been announced that a new anniversary short animation, "Evangelion 30th Broadcast Anniversary Special Screening," will be shown at this event.

"Neon Genesis Evangelion" has continued to create social phenomena since its television series began broadcasting in 1995. The series was relaunched in 2007 as the "Rebuild of Evangelion" film series, and the 2021 final installment, "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," achieved the historic milestone of surpassing 10 billion yen at the box office.

Since October 2025, marking the series' 30th anniversary, a theatrical revival screening project called "Monthly Eva" has been implemented, with each work ranking high on weekend audience attendance charts. Furthermore, the commemorative exhibition "ALL OF EVANGELION" started in November, among other initiatives successively unfolding to celebrate the anniversary year.

The newly produced footage for this event is planned to be approximately 13 minutes long. Hideaki Anno, the series' original creator, serves as planner, scriptwriter, and general supervisor, while Naoyuki Asano, who served as animation director for "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time," takes on the role of director. Additionally, main staff members who have supported the series, including Kazuya Tsurumaki, Shinji Higuchi, and Ikki Todoroki, are listed as supervisors. While details are currently unknown, it will be unveiled for the first time worldwide as event venue-exclusive footage.
