Anime "MF Ghost 3rd Season" Confirmed for Early Streaming on Prime Video Starting January 1, 2026! Second PV Also Unveiled

It has been decided that the TV anime "MF Ghost 3rd Season" will be available for early streaming on Prime Video starting Thursday, January 1, 2026, three days ahead of the television broadcast. Additionally, the second PV featuring the ending theme song and new cast information have also been released.

This work is based on the original manga by Shuichi Shigeno, serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) from 2017 to February 2025, and serves as the successor to "Initial D," which was serialized in the same magazine until 2013. With total circulation exceeding 7 million copies and all 23 volumes of the comics currently on sale to great acclaim, this is a visual adaptation of the blockbuster near-future public road car racing battle manga.

Set in the future beyond "Initial D," in the year 202X. In Japan, where autonomous driving has become widespread, public road automobile races are being held. The race that has garnered explosive popularity worldwide is called "MFG." The race stage is the third round, The Peninsula Manazuru. Kanata challenges with his turbocharged 86, which has increased combat capabilities, amid the intensifying competition for top positions with the entry of Sena Moroboshi, a rising star and inheritor of Gunma Pride, but... The final race begins with him unable to use second gear due to an elbow injury he sustained just before.

The released second PV depicts the fierce battle of the MFG third round "The Peninsula Manazuru" finals. The protagonist, Kanata Katagiri (CV: Yuma Uchida), facing adversity with his inability to use second gear due to his injury and dropping in ranking, ignites his dormant fighting spirit and launches a revenge attack against the "Godly 15" who stand in his way. The video also features a portion of the ending theme song "Yokan no Tochu Prod. ☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo)" performed by Himika Akaneya.

For the noteworthy new character appearing from the 3rd Season, Emma Green, former race queen and current model/actress Nanako Aizawa has been cast. Emma is a 19-year-old from England, a female driver who has come to Japan to compete in MFG's fourth round, harboring a sense of rivalry toward Kanata. She aims for the top positions with her high driving sense and strong pride as her weapons. Her vehicle is an Aston Martin Vantage.

Regarding this casting, a comment has arrived from Aizawa. She expressed her surprise, saying, "I have been involved in car and racing work for a long time and have seen many drivers' backs, but I never thought the day would come when I would race myself..." She also shared her enthusiasm, stating, "I will approach this sincerely so that the charm of the work and the joy of cars and motorsports can reach more people."
