On December 26th at 7:00 PM, one of Japan's largest anime awards ceremonies, "Japan Anime Trend Awards 2025," was broadcast live on ABEMA's Anime SPECIAL channel.
For this third installment, Yuuki Iwai (Haraichi) and voice actress Yoko Hikasa served as MCs. Guests included well-known anime fans such as Akari Akase, Atsuhiro Inukai, Hantaro Tensin, and Sora Tokui, as well as special guests "Myaku-Myaku," the official character of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, and Nami Mizuno, who voices the character.
The program featured the "Japan Anime Trend Awards Ceremony," which honors "the anime that buzzed the most" in the online and anime industries, the "Anime Trend Awards 2025 Special Live" with performances by five artist groups, and a segment showcasing all the hot anime topics for 2026. The combined streaming on ABEMA and the linked broadcast on X exceeded a total of 1.5 million views.
At the opening, MCs Iwai and Hikasa were joined by guests Akase, Inukai, Tientsin, and Tokui, who engaged in discussions about the anime works that colored the year. Myaku-Myaku then appeared and introduced the short anime "Ha-i! Myaku-Myaku desu," in which the character starred. When episode 2 of the work, a socially conscious comedy aligned with the expo's theme, was specially screened in the studio, cast member Mizuno sent a message saying, "It was incredibly fulfilling thanks to Myaku-Myaku! Please continue to support Myaku-Myaku!"
