Naoko Yamada (General Director)
"Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia," the story drawn by Tomato Soup-sensei, was filled with surprises that were very fresh and stimulating to me. The characters, including Sitara, who found themselves in the midst of the great waves of changing times, certainly lived, thought, believed in love, and lived their lives boldly at times and delicately at others. Powerfully and adorably. I will depict this story with respect and care.
Abel Gongora (Director)
The cultures nurtured in both the Mongolian Empire and the Persian Empire are all wonderful, and while holding deep respect for those who have passed them down to the present day, we have interpreted their history in our own way, regardless of whether it is fact or legend. The heroine who appears in the original manga radiates a strong, sharp, and unique presence. I am truly happy to be able to deliver as animation the moment when she carves out her own shining path and embarks on a grand adventure.
Kenichi Yoshida (Character Design・Chief Animation Director)
This is my first time working on an original work, so I'm doing my best in every aspect!
Kanichi Katou (Series Composition)
I worked on the composition so that the excellence of the original work can be expressed in the anime as well.
Through the protagonist who acquires knowledge and survives in that foreign culture—the grasslands of 13th-century Mongolia, the beautiful night sky, and the lives of nomadic people—I hope you will feel the struggles and encounters that resonate with us in the present day, as well as hope for the future.
Koshiro Hino (Music)
While all the characters are fascinating, expressing Sitara's complex emotions as she lives robustly and strongly while harboring resentment and sadness was the biggest challenge and the most rewarding. Furthermore, I feel that expressing such subject matter in the modern era is very meaningful. I strongly hope for a peaceful world where children with sadness like Sitara's are not born in any country or region.
This was filled with firsts: my first anime soundtrack production, as well as my first time creating Persian and Mongolian music. However, I feel I was able to accomplish this thanks to the two directors and all the production staff who patiently worked alongside me. I would like to express my gratitude once again.
