The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 2016 to 2020. Set in the Taisho era, it tells the story of a boy named Tanjiro whose family was killed by demons and his subsequent battles.

The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Unwavering Resolve Arc," which began airing in April 2019, quickly became a hot topic, and the sequel film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train" surpassed 50 billion yen in total worldwide box office revenue. The original manga's cumulative worldwide circulation exceeded 220 million copies, making it a mega-hit that will remain in the history of Japanese manga and anime.

Following the "Unwavering Resolve Arc," the TV anime continued with the "Entertainment District Arc," "Swordsmith Village Arc," and "Hashira Training Arc," and it was announced that the final episodes, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Castle," would be produced as a trilogy. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Castle Chapter 1 - The Return of Akaza" has been showing in theaters since July 18, 2025, and in November, it was announced that the total worldwide box office revenue had surpassed 106.3 billion yen. Since November 1, 2025, character commercials using footage from the film have been released for eight consecutive weeks on the Aniplex channel on YouTube.
