The anime "High School! Kimengumi" is based on a gag manga by Motoei Shinzawa that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha) starting in 1980. The original started as "3-nen Kimengumi" and was retitled "High School! Kimengumi" as the characters advanced to high school. It's a gag anime that depicts the unpredictable school life of unique groups such as "Honegumi," "Irootokogumi," "Udegumi," and "Bangumi," centered around Rei Ichidō and the "Kimengumi."

【Synopsis】
Yui Kawa transfers to Ichiou Junior High School, 3rd Year Class 5. According to Chie Uru, who sits next to her, there are many eccentric people at this school, especially some who are "the weirdest of the weird." Right in front of Yui, who is eager to make lots of memories, a bicycle built for five crashes into the classroom!? Led by their leader Rei Ichidō riding in the front basket, they are a group of oddballs with extraordinary appearances and extraordinary personalities—none other than the "Kimengumi"! Chasing after them as they run wild, Yui's unpredictable school life begins!
