The second season of the anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" began airing on January 16th. From the very first episode of Season 2, Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki) displayed her customary "butt-only pose," and fans were already getting excited online with comments like "the usual butt," and "I thought it was a mimic."
When it comes to Frieren, she's often depicted in comedic shots where she gets her upper body swallowed by mimics disguised as treasure chests. However, in Episode 29, the first episode of Season 2, "the familiar composition" appeared despite the absence of a mimic.
Frieren and her companions had left the magical city of Äußerst and were in the Zaum Wetlands of the northern countries. While Fern (CV: Kana Ichinose) was preparing breakfast and Stark (CV: Chiaki Kobayashi) returned with fish he had caught, Frieren was searching for something off to the side. With her upper body stuck in the bushes, Frieren was in the familiar state where only her bottom half from the butt down was visible.
The service (?) shot that was delivered even without a mimic received many reactions online such as "the usual butt," "I thought it was a mimic," "a butt I've seen more than my parents' faces," and "so she sticks her head in places other than mimics too lol."
The anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is based on the manga of the same name serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday," with original story by Kanehito Yamada and art by Tsukasa Abe. Set in the world "after" the Demon King's defeat, it depicts the story of Frieren, a mage who has lived for over 1,000 years, embarking on a "journey to understand people," and the original comics have won numerous manga awards. Furthermore, the first season of the TV anime began airing in 2023, and it continues to gain numerous fans both domestically and internationally.
