It has been announced that the TV anime adaptation of Kazuto Mihara's manga "The World Is Dancing" will begin broadcasting this summer. CygamesPictures will handle the animation production.
The original work is a historical coming-of-age manga serialized in Kodansha's "Morning" magazine, spanning 6 volumes. Set in the Muromachi period, it depicts the growth of Oniyasha, the childhood name of Zeami, who would later perfect the art of Noh. For the anime adaptation of this work, which garnered attention for its narrative excellence and thematic depth that resonates even in modern times, production will be handled by CygamesPictures, known for "Umamusume: Cinderella Gray" and "The Summer Hikaru Died." Director Toshimasa Kuroyanagi, known for "The Great Passage," "Backflip!!," and "Love Me, Love Me Not," has been appointed as director.
Yumiri Hanamori has been confirmed to play the protagonist Oniyasha. Hanamori will portray Zeami's youth. Along with the anime announcement, the teaser visual and PV were unveiled for the first time, and a newly drawn illustration by the original author Mihara was also released.

The teaser visual features Oniyasha's figure created by character designer Keigo Sasaki, adorned with the title lettering "The World Is Dancing" by calligrapher Satoshi Nemoto. Nemoto is also known for handling the title lettering and calligraphy instruction for the NHK historical drama "Dear Radiance." The released PV depicts the harshness of an era when death was close at hand, and the moment when Oniyasha encounters a shocking dance. Additionally, figures such as Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, who also appears in the original work, can be seen, and information about additional cast members is eagerly awaited.
Comments from staff and cast have also been received along with the announcement.
