[Photos/Images] “Destroy Everything”—Maki & Mai’s Iconic, Heart-Wrenching Moment Arrives; Fans React: “Can’t Stop Crying,” “The Acting Is Unreal” in Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 51 1st

In Episode 51 of the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 "The Culling Game Part 1," which aired late night on January 22nd, Maki Zen'in (CV: Mikako Komatsu) found herself in a desperate situation after being defeated by her father, Ogi (CV: Keiichi Sonobe). Her twin sister, Mai (CV: Marina Inoue), then took a fateful, prepared action that left viewers devastated, with many commenting, “This is too painful” and “I’m ugly crying because of the incredible acting.”

In Episode 51, “Perfect Preparation,” Maki visited the Zen'in estate to retrieve Cursed Tools to bolster her strength for the Culling Game. However, upon opening the doors to the storehouse, she found her sister Mai lying there, bloodied by their father, Ogi. Sensing the situation, Maki challenged Ogi to a fight but was no match for him. Ogi then threw both Maki and Mai into a room filled with countless Cursed Spirits to dispose of them.

Standing over the unconscious Maki, Mai muttered, “I always knew... it would end up like this. It's the worst.” The scene then shifted to a beach-like setting. As Mai walked toward the sea, she explained that identical twins are treated as a single individual in jujutsu. She revealed that as long as Mai—who possesses a Cursed Technique—exists, Maki will always be a "half-baked" sorcerer, even with her "Physical Gift" that grants her superhuman physical abilities in exchange for having almost no Cursed Energy. Maki desperately tried to stop her, shouting, “I get it, just... come back!!” but Mai made her promise one last thing: “Destroy everything.” She then used her "Construction" technique at the cost of her life to create a Cursed Tool for Maki.

As this iconic scene between Maki and Mai finally hit the screen, the internet was flooded with reactions: “This is too much,” “The way she said ‘Destroy everything’...”, “I can't stop crying,” “The voice acting is insane,” and “The performance was so good it had me sobbing.”
