The official X account for the 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' anime has released an image that has sparked major discussion among fans.
What was revealed, as indicated in the message, are the silhouettes of the Seven Sages of Destruction (Shichihoken), the elite executives directly under the Demon King who appear in the series. Multiple eerie shadows stand in fog-filled darkness, and you can see their eyes glowing pale blue. Despite being silhouettes, distinctive features such as horns and differences in physique are depicted, and the image exudes an intimidating presence, particularly from the shadow holding scales in the front center—recognizable as Aura the Guillotine (CV: Ayana Taketatsu)—and the massive demons surrounding her.
This scene is from episode 30 of the anime 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End,' which aired on January 23. For the benefit of Fern (CV: Kana Ichinose) and Stark (CV: Chiaki Kobayashi), who didn't know about the Hero of the South (CV: Kazuhiko Inoue), Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki) explains the Hero of the South's achievements. He confronted Schlacht the Omniscient, the Demon King's confidant, and all of the Seven Sages of Destruction, defeated three of the Seven Sages, and perished in mutual destruction with Schlacht the Omniscient... During this explanation, the silhouettes of the Seven Sages of Destruction appeared in the anime.
'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' is an anime adaptation based on the manga of the same name, with original story by Kanehito Yamada and artwork by Tsukasa Abe. Set in the world "after" the Demon King was defeated by the heroes, it depicts the story of Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki), an elven mage who has lived for over a thousand years, as she reflects on her past journey with former companions and sets out on a new journey with new companions "to understand people." It's a fantasy that delicately portrays the bonds with people encountered during the journey and the importance of the time that remains.
In response to this post, fans have commented with remarks such as "Isn't that Aura after a long time?", "Only one of them has too much presence", "They look incredibly strong though", and "I'm so looking forward to the Seven Sages of Destruction scenes."
