The anime "You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!" is based on the manga of the same name by Shinya Misu. It’s a romantic comedy centering on a love triangle between three childhood friends: Yonosuke Sakai (nicknamed "Eiyū"), Shio Minamo, and Akari Hiodoshi.

[Synopsis]
A beautiful girl suddenly appears before Eiyū. She gazes at him and flashes a smile, saying, "I knew it! It's Big Brother Eiyū!"
She is Runako, a childhood friend one year younger who lived nearby until five years ago. She has moved in with Eiyū to prepare for her high school entrance exams.
To top it off, she makes bold statements like "I’ve fallen in love with Big Brother Eiyū!" and "I want to do lewd things, too. I love you!" With the appearance of a third childhood friend, there's a feeling of trouble on the horizon...
