Anime "Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko" Teaser Visual Unveiled! Starring Manaka Nakayama, Noriko Hidaka Reprises Role as Danpei

The teaser visual for the TV anime "Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko," scheduled to air in 2026, has been released, along with announcements of the main cast, main staff information, and a dialogue interview.

"Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko" is the legitimate sequel to "Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei," which sparked a dodgeball boom in the 1990s. The author is Tetsuhiro Koshita, known for that work as well as "Bakusō Kyōdai Let's & Go!!," which ignited the mini 4WD boom. Featuring Danko Ichigeki, the daughter of the previous protagonist Danpei Ichigeki, as the main character, serialization began in "Weekly CoroCoro Comic" (Shogakukan) in 2022. It became a hot topic primarily on social media immediately after its release, with the first chapter's page views exceeding 700,000. It has garnered attention by ranking on X's trending topics on update days.

The newly unveiled teaser visual depicts Danko Ichigeki, Chinko Kobotoke, and five members of the Tamakawa Dodgeball Club bursting forth energetically, along with the catchphrase "Deliver a 'strike' to this boring world!"

For the main cast, Manaka Nakayama has been selected for the protagonist role of Danko Ichigeki, marking her first starring role. Additionally, Kaori Maeda plays Chinko Kobotoke, daughter of Chinen Kobotoke, Akira Sekine plays Mochiko Etai, Yō Taichi plays Susan Canon, and Yū Sasahara plays Honey Otohana.

Furthermore, Noriko Hidaka, who played the protagonist Danpei Ichigeki in the previous work "Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei," has been confirmed to appear. In this work, she serves as the narrator and also plays the childhood version of Danpei Ichigeki.

For the production staff, Hiroshi Ikehata of "TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You" and "Witch Watch" serves as director, Ippo Hyōdo handles series composition, Naruhito Sekikawa serves as character designer and chief animation director, and CUE handles animation production.

In conjunction with the information release, a campaign offering signed illustration boards by Noriko Hidaka and Manaka Nakayama is being held on the official X account until March 4th.
