The release period for the theatrical animation "Witch on the Holy Night," produced by game brand TYPE-MOON and animation production company ufotable, has been confirmed for 2026. Additionally, the latest footage of the work has been released within ufotable's promotional reel.

"Witch on the Holy Night" is a visual novel PC game released in 2012 by TYPE-MOON, which has brought works such as the "Fate" series and "Tsukihime" to the world. Originating from an unpublished novel previously written by scenario writer Kinoko Nasu, and set in the late 1980s—the earliest period in the TYPE-MOON works' timeline—it is also called the "origin" of the brand.

While the theatrical animation adaptation of this work had been announced for some time, it has now finally been revealed that it will be released on screen in 2026. Production will be handled by ufotable, which has demonstrated overwhelming visual beauty in anime adaptations of TYPE-MOON works such as the "The Garden of Sinners" series and "Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel]," as well as in the currently screening "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie - Infinity Castle."

In conjunction with the release period announcement, the latest footage of this work was unveiled from ufotable's promotional reel video. The footage depicts the intersection of peaceful everyday life and the extraordinary world of girls who use magic, rendered in stunning visual beauty. Furthermore, the end of the video includes an announcement stating "More Information to Be Released This Spring," raising expectations for further information unveiling.
