The anime "High School! Kimengumi" is based on a gag manga by Motoei Shinzawa that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha) in 1980. The original work started as "3-nen Kimengumi" and was retitled "High School! Kimengumi" as the characters advanced in their education. It is a gag anime depicting the unpredictable school life of unique groups such as "Honegumi," "Irootokogumi," "Udegumi," and "Bangumi," centered around Rei Ichidō (CV: Tomokazu Seki) and the other members of "Kimengumi."

■Episode 8 Synopsis:
"Seaside Chase"
The girls' group including Yui arrives at the beach. The "Udegumi" led by Kai Undō also appears to be there for a lifeguard part-time job. Suddenly appearing there are J●ws and Umibōzu!? Naturally, the ones involved in such nonsense must be our "Kimengumi."

"Midsummer Night's Poppin' Shower"
The "Kimengumi" are in high spirits at the fireworks festival. It's impossible to tell them "don't get too excited." However, Gō says he has to help at home that day and can't go with them. When everyone gathers to dance to "Tankō-bushi" playing at the summer festival venue, the one who was there was...?
