The TV anime "Eren the Southpaw" is set to premiere on the TV Tokyo network on Tuesday, April 7, at midnight (24:00). Along with this announcement, the main trailer has been released, revealing ALI and Mulasaki Ima as the theme song artists. Additionally, details have been unveiled regarding the exclusive visitor gifts to be distributed at the advance screening commemorative stage greeting on Sunday, March 15.
This project is an anime adaptation of the hit comic by Kappi. The series has recorded approximately 250 million PVs, with over 3.9 million copies in circulation, and has generated significant buzz through previous live-action drama and stage adaptations. It is a creator-focused ensemble drama depicting Koichi Asakura (CV: Shoya Chiba), an ordinary young man dreaming of becoming "somebody," and Eren Yamagishi (CV: Yumi Uchiyama), a solitary genius struggling with her overwhelming talent. The story follows the two as they struggle and challenge themselves in a world crowded with talent—Koichi climbing the ranks of the advertising industry, and Eren diving into the global art scene.
The newly released main trailer begins with Koichi, whose life changes drastically after meeting Eren and deciding to become a designer, and Eren, who aims to be a painter. It captures Koichi’s growth as he becomes an art director at an ad agency, grappling with conflicts and searching for his path through relationships with diverse, talented creators. The video also features the opening theme "FUNKIN’ BEAUTIFUL feat. ZORN," a collaboration between ALI and rapper ZORN, and the ending theme "New Walk" by Mulasaki Ima.
Furthermore, ahead of the advance screenings of episodes 1–3 starting Friday, March 27, an early commemorative stage greeting will be held at kino cinema Shinjuku on Sunday, March 15. It has been confirmed that a "Special Postcard Set Illustrated by Original Author Kappi" will be distributed as an exclusive gift for attendees. These postcards capture scenes such as Eren in her high school days and a moment from her childhood with her father.
