The broadcast start date for TV anime "Mission: Yozakura Family" Season 2 has been set for Sunday, April 12, and the second key visual and main PV have been released. Additionally, theme song information has been unveiled, revealing that Sakurazaka46 will perform the opening theme and Pilaf Seijin will perform the ending theme.
"Mission: Yozakura Family" (published by Shueisha Jump Comics), originally created by Hitsuji Gondaira, is a spy family comedy filled with love and laughter, following high school student Taiyō Asano, who closed his heart after losing his family in an accident, as he experiences a tumultuous daily life with the Yozakura family, a historic spy household. Serialization began in Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2019, and the cumulative circulation of the comics has surpassed 3.6 million copies. After approximately five and a half years of serialization, the series reached its grand finale in January of last year, generating much buzz with many voices of emotion. Season 2 will begin broadcasting from April 12, every Sunday at 5:00 PM on MBS/TBS network across 28 stations nationwide.
The released second key visual depicts Taiyō and Kyōichirō standing back to back, with Mutsumi gazing at them as if in prayer. At the feet of the combat-ready Yozakura family are the figures of the first family head, Tsubomi Yozakura, and Mutsumi and her siblings' father, Momo Yozakura, creating a tense finish that suggests the family bonds will be tested.
Furthermore, within the main PV, portions of the opening theme "What's 'KAZOKU'?" performed by Sakurazaka46 and the ending theme "Shalala" performed by Pilaf Seijin were unveiled for the first time. Taiyō challenges the Silver Rank spy exam, but the most formidable examiners stand in his way. The footage builds anticipation over whether Taiyō can prove his strength.
This marks Pilaf Seijin's first anime ending theme performance. Attention is focused on the collaboration between Pilaf Seijin, with their unique worldview, and "Mission: Yozakura Family."
