Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is based on the manga of the same name by Kanehito Yamada (author) and Tsukasa Abe (illustrator), currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Set in the world after the Demon King has been defeated, it tells the story of Frieren, an elf mage who has lived for over 1,000 years, as she embarks on a journey to understand humans. The original manga has won numerous awards, and the first season of the TV anime, which began airing in 2023, continues to gain fans both in Japan and overseas.

Episode 37: Himmel's Autobiography
[Synopsis]
A village where a man refuses to abandon his home despite the threat of a dragon pack. A port town on the vast Lake Corridor. Frieren and her party visit various places during their journey. At Lake Corridor, they find they don't have enough money for the ferry fare, so the boatman offers them a deal: they must find Himmel's Autobiography, which lies hidden in an island monastery.
