The new TV anime "Toaru Anbu no Item" has been confirmed for broadcast in Fall 2026. Along with this announcement, the latest teaser PV and character design illustrations of the five "ITEM" members—Shizuri Mugino, Rikō Takitsubo, Frenda Seivelun, Saiai Kinuhata, and Choubi Hanano—have been released.

This work is based on a spin-off of the "Toaru" series centered around the popular entertainment novel "A Certain Magical Index," which has surpassed 31 million copies in cumulative circulation. This information was announced as "A Certain Scientific Railgun" reached its final serialized chapter in the March 27th issue of "Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh."

The released teaser PV captures glimpses of the daily lives and harsh missions of the girls at the center of the story, set against the tense atmosphere of the "Dark Side" lurking behind Academy City's peaceful everyday life. The video showcases dynamic action sequences one after another: Saiai Kinuhata (CV: Chinatsu Akasaki) suppressing bullets while declaring "It's not like I hate this job or anything," Frenda Seivelun (CV: Maaya Uchida) executing an elegant roundhouse kick saying "Today's just an unlucky day," Rikō Takitsubo (CV: Aya Suzaki) quietly stating "I'll be wherever Mugino is," and leader Shizuri Mugino (CV: Ami Koshimizu) showing sharp eyes while saying "I feel like killing even without orders from above."

Furthermore, at the end of the video, the new member Choubi Hanano appears trembling with tears, saying "H-Hanano, Choubi Hanano desu..." The digital and solid sound created by Maiko Iuchi, familiar to fans of the "Toaru" series, brilliantly enhances the ruthless atmosphere and stylish action in this footage.

Additionally, a special stage for this work will be held at the NBC Universal Entertainment Japan booth at "AnimeJapan 2026," taking place on Saturday, March 28th at Tokyo Big Sight. Cast members including Ami Koshimizu will appear at the event, and the voice actor for Choubi Hanano, who showed a frightened appearance in the PV, will finally be announced. Free sample booklets of the original novel will also be distributed at the booth to commemorate the anime adaptation.
