——In terms of the range of tension, does this rank high among the various characters you've played, Tsuruoka-san?
Tsuruoka: It was top-class. I felt that's what it would take for Takaba to come alive. If you don't go all out, it won't get across, and the final volume adjustment is done by the engineers anyway, so I thought it would be better not to set my own ceiling and just go full throttle.
——"Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1" has an even heavier visual tone compared to Season 2. Takaba appearing in such a setting feels like quite a unique presence.
Tsuruoka: I was well aware it was an incredibly heavy story, and if Takaba is an existence that can add a single drop to that, I felt that if I added too much of myself, it would stop being interesting. I think it's just right that he suddenly appears in that kind of world and causes all sorts of chaos.
I never thought about trying to make people laugh or doing something unexpected. Rather, I thought that by having those around Takaba react to him, his existence as a character would be highlighted. So really, the only thing I was conscious of was performing with full energy and vigor.
——Finally, please give a message to fans who are looking forward to Takaba's activities.
Tsuruoka: Takaba is like a foreign element that suddenly appeared in a stylish, heavy-toned setting, but I think he's a role that can bounce precisely because his surroundings are that way.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing how he appears to those who have been watching "Jujutsu Kaisen" up until now, and for those who will be watching from now on, I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming developments while feeling that there's this little spice added. I want to live to the fullest as Fumihiko Takaba so that I can meet those expectations.
