The final episode, Episode 12 "That Day's Kimengumi," was an episode depicting the Kimengumi's childhood. The young Rei Ichidō (CV: Tomokazu Seki) and his friends retrieved a balloon belonging to Yui Kawa (CV: Haruka Shiraishi) that had gotten stuck in a tree. However, Yui immediately popped the balloon when she stumbled and fell.

The popped balloon had Yui's portrait drawn on it. Rei and the others comforted the crying Yui, saying, "You don't need to cry!" When they lined up side by side, saying "We have balloons with faces drawn on them right here!", they took big breaths and puffed up their faces like balloons. Seeing Rei and the others' perfectly round, inflated faces, Yui burst out laughing.

The facial expressions that evoked the roots of the Kimengumi's special technique "Kimen Flash" moved viewers, who commented, "So this is the original Kimen Flash," "Face balloons lol, that's so kind," and "The Kimengumi's childhood was so cute~."
